"We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights here. So much so, that we have booked to stay again, in August.
When we arrived we were met by Fran, who had changed which pitch we were staying on, as it was more sheltered (windy, unseasonal weather). She checked this was ok with us, but her recommendations were much appreciated.
The pitches are so big, and private. It really feels like you have a small field to yourself. The site is safe for children, as cars are not driving back and forth past pitches all day. Our 9 year old loved the space, and the fact that she could walk around the site without avoiding cars, constantly.
The toilet/shower/washing up block is spotless and spacious. We made use of the shelf in the fridge and the freezer, to freeze our ice blocks.
Both Fran and Richard were lovely. Very helpful and seemed genuinely interested in making sure that we enjoyed our stay.
The views are amazing, and the local wildlife (rabbits, birds and bugs) were delightful. It's only a short walk to Whitesands, and we made the most of the available sunshine to play on the beach and in the sea.
We have stayed locally at other campsites, but Dunes is the one we will keep coming back to."

"Amazing - got everything
Stayed in a van - couldn’t fault it, convenient water , hook up and ready made fire pit and picnic table . Great views - enormous pitch - really gave feeling of space - hope they don’t ever reduce them in size !! Probably the most comprehensive and clean facilities we’ve ever used outside a hotel !! Good walks, bike rides and near to st David’s - a must- stay campsite" (Review on Hipcamp June 2022)

"It is not very often we will write a review for anything let alone for a campsite however on this occasion we thought we should. We have been camping for over 30 years or so and this is the best site we have ever stayed on. There are so many positives it is hard to list them all, nonetheless, it is worth mentioning the size of the pitches and the excellent facilities which are in fantastic condition and immaculate in every way. The attention to detail for every campers need is what really impressed us, again there are so many examples to list but the extent of recycling bins we have never seen elsewhere. And last but not least the friendly and helpful hosts, Richard and Fran. A truly great camp site, go and check it out for yourselves" (Review on Google June 2022)

A little slice of heaven! We just had a glorious holiday at The Dunes.. We have been camping for over twenty years and this is the best campsite we have ever been to (and we've got lots of sites we have absolutely loved). The site is beautifully designed to feel as much like wild camping as is possible whilst still having the luxury of the most immaculate, carefully thought out facilities (each pitch has its own shelf in a fridge, individually marked plug sockets, the shared bathroom facilities are a very far cry from usual luke warm dribble of water in a muddy shower tray! Firepit.. ).. Richard and Fran are super friendly, welcoming and helpful. There is an off road path directly to white sands beach which is spectacular.. We booked again for next year before we left and very much hope to be returning regularly.. Thanks so much Richard and Fran

Amazing location. Facilities are great, and St David's is just down the road. I can't think of a better campsite I've been to. Cheers Fran & Richard.

A lovely site this one. We have visited many sites over the years, but this is the best yet! Fran and Richard so lovely. 10 minutes walk to Whitesands beach. 30 minutes walk some along footpath some quiet road to St David’s. Facilities are immaculate. Pitches are the biggest ever. Picnic table and dug in fire pit also. Wood can be bought from site £6 it burns very well and will last a good 2/3 hours. Very quiet on site with all eco friendly facilities. Recycling is done very well so please separate this to put in bins provided. Myself and my wife stayed here for 3 nights and didn’t want to leave. If you are in this area make sure you stay here.... you will not be disappointed. Well done to Fran and Richard

A truly delightful place to stay - five spacious sites for Motorhomes with fire pits and picnic tables with welcoming and accommodating hosts. Highly recommended.

If we could design our ideal campsite, this would be it. The setting is stunning, the location, a few minutes drive away from St Davids and a short walk along the coastal path to Whitesands, could not be better. The camp site itself is really something special. Each pitch offers space and privacy, peace and quiet and wonderful views. Our children were able to explore safely due to no cars which added to our relaxation as we didn't have to worry. If you are looking for a campsite that is quiet and relaxing and offers some privacy, this is for you. Ideal for couples and families, old and young. The other wonderful thing about this place is how it has been designed with every need in mind. We loved the ability to have a camp fire - sitting with our children toasting marsh mellows whilst the sun went down was a real high light and something very special. The site is looked after so well and the facilities are the best you will find anywhere - stylishly designed wet rooms and toilet blocks and washing up areas, Bosch washing machine and modern fridges. Fran and Richard clearly gave a lot of thought to the design of the site and they work really hard each day to ensure everything is spotless . The camp site is a green campsite and so there are recycling facilities which is fantastic. Fran and RIchard are really great and cannot do enough to help. This place has a bit of magic about it and we would strongly recommend it - we cannot wait to go back! Thank you Fran and Richard!

We have just returned from probably the best campsite we have ever been too - and that says a lot as we are out 3-4 times a year.... Firstly the facilities, just wow for a campsite - this was 5 star hotel level, the showers & toilets were maintained so regularly I can’t imagine how Fran gets anything else done! It felt really quite luxurious. We stayed in one of the ‘hideaway pitches’ and we therefore had the added bonus of a unit nearer us that had fridges - with your own clearly marked shelf and freezers for ice packs. There was also washing up facilities here, so we didn’t have to go to far with our pots etc. The pitch we stayed in was remarkably large, yet wonderfully private. Each pitch is separated by beautiful wild flowers & trees, giving a ‘wild camping ‘ feel yet also set in a way that’s really thought through for campers privacy. The location is beautiful only 10 mins walk to a great surfing beach, which is a massive positive as well. We will be returning this year without a doubt. Well done Fran & Richard you have got this spot on, thanks.

Stunning facilities glorious surroundings. Great location to explore the beautiful areas of Pembrokeshire. Very friendly owners with an obvious keen eye for quality and comfort. Pitches are huge really makes a lovely difference to the enjoyment with fire pit and picnic bench already in place. Showers etc were simply exceptional almost Spa quality. If you enjoy quality and relaxation with exceptional views then you’ve found a real sanctuary here

Just returned from a 6 night camp. The site is amazing, perched on the hill top that leads down to Whitesands Beach with views of cairn liddie. The facilities are kept immaculately clean by the owners, Richard and Fran. Some lovely rare bread sheep in field. Everything is very thoughtfully set up for camping convenience. Had very high winds the first two nights. Richard put up two heavy duty posts to anchor our tent and prevent it being blown away. We had fresh eggs from their chickens. My kids, 11 and 7 loved running around and exploring. Dogs are not allowed on this site and there are restrictions on car use. Cars are only allowed on to the pitch twice, to pick up and drop off so the children can run around in safety. No need to worry about hidden dog mess like you do with other campsites. You wake up to bird song and wildlife. Richard and Fran are incredibly helpful with their local knowledge, best places to launch boats ets and are always thinking of solutions to make camping more enjoyable. I fully recommend this place.

We are just home from what has become our favourite camping destination! Dunes camping is literally a 10min stroll to Whitesands Bay, St David's is also in walking distance & easily accessible by car. Top marks for location...but that's easy, it is what it is! The site itself: we stayed on the Curlew Pitch, a large plot surrounded by bracken, hedge seedlings, thistle & various other wildflowers that grow to such a height that you are essentially entirely private. Our pitch had an eco loo. This is a composting toilet that was immaculate, well built & only for our use during our stay. By following the instructions the loo remained clean & odourless during our 3 night stay. There were two showers (but the site only has 10 pitches so there was never a queue), & a washing up station. All of the facilities kept clean & to a high standard. If the private, quiet, secluded & well located pitch with clean facilities isn't enough the owners came up trump's yet again! Each pitch has it's own shelf in one of the two communal fridges, there is a bank of sockets for charging phones etc & a freezer (you can borrow & switch out Dunes ice blocks to keep your cool box cool). Everything I have already mentioned makes this site worth the rating, in addition to this there is a shiny new bathroom/ flush toilet installation in the stable block near the main house as well! The owners were hugely welcoming, instructions & guidance very clear & the site well maintained. We loved the added bonus of not having to dodge campsite traffic as once unloaded & pitched we removed our car to the Dunes parking area! I cannot rate this site enough!

We really loved this campsite! The pitches were private and spacious and perfect for the kids to run about safely on - like having a tent with your own private garden! We enjoyed campfires in the evenings which also had a grill for cooking (brilliant as we had no room to pack the bbq) The on-pitch composting toilet was brilliant - much better than I had expected - clean, comfortable and fresh smelling! The other facilities were immaculately clean and tidy. Lovely hot showers in very well designed cabins and a great indoor washing-up area with fridge, freezer and charging points. We had everything we needed on site and Fran and Richard were absolutely lovely and made sure that our stay was perfect. The surrounding area was also lovely. We spent several hot days on the beautiful Whitesands Beach (a short off-road walk) - a brilliant beach for sandcastles and surfing! We visited St Davids, climbed Carn Llidi for some amazing views, had an exciting 'wet and wild' boat trip with Venture Jets - where we saw seals close-up and also spent a very adventurous afternoon coasteering with TYF with the eldest child whilst the younger children enjoyed an interesting trip to the Bug Zoo! What a great holiday! We can't wait to return!!!

I have been camping for several decades and this is by far and away the best campsite I have ever stayed at. Fran and Richard are very welcoming. The site is beautiful and you feel as though you are getting right back to nature. It is a site for true campers. There are no campervans or caravans. Just tents on their own designated glades in amongst the dunes. We had a lovely week staying at this magical place. We stayed on Fulmar pitch. It has 10amp electric hook-up and is conveniently close to the showers and washing up facilities. When you are on the pitch you cannot see your neighbours, the loo or the showers etc. It is also great that cars are allowed to the pitch to set up/down only. The campfire are supplied with a cooking grate and there is a picnic bench which means you can leave the camping table and chairs at home! We will be returning next year!
