There are lots of jobs that we need to do in between departures and arrivals to ensure your holiday is the best we can achieve for you.

Payments
When you book we request a 50% deposit and your pitch is secured at time of payment. For short lead-time bookings - i.e. those booked less than six weeks before arrival, the full amount will be requested to secure the booking. Your payment is conditionally refundable, see below "Cancellation by You".
Please note that the deposit includes full payment (£12) for your Greener Camping Club membership. The balance is required six weeks prior to your arrival date. If we do not receive your balance by this time, we will assume you have cancelled your holiday and release the dates - see below.

Bookings
Bookings are not transferable.
We do not accept group bookings. Each pitch must be booked by the party staying on the pitch.
Any changes and additions of persons to bookings are at the discretion of Dunes At Whitesands Camping.
Please ensure that all guests in your party are included in your original booking. Extra guests can only be added later for the full duration of your booking and only if the site capacity allows.

Cancellation by You
If you cancel your camping holiday 6 weeks or more before your arrival date we will refund your full payment less a £50 administration fee. If you cancel your camping holiday 6 weeks or less before your arrival date there is no refund. If you are worried about the prospect of cancelling, please take out holiday insurance. Bookings are not transferable without our prior agreement by email.
No refunds for late arrival, no shows, early departures or inclement weather.

Cancellation by Us
If you booked direct from our website:

Dunes at Whitesands Camping reserves the right to cancel a camping holiday at short notice if we can not accommodate you; due to any reason relating to Covid-19, ill health, fire, or any other extenuating circumstances beyond our control. Under such circumstances, your full payment minus the GCC membership fee, card fees if you booked online. Dunes at Whitesands Camping cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss, caused by cancellation.

The Weather
In common with all of the west coast of the British Isles, this campsite can be subjected to extreme weather conditions. Very strong winds and torrential rain can occur at any time of the year, though we are fortunate in that there is no flood risk. You must ensure that your tent is suitable for these conditions and correctly erected. Poorly designed tent pegs can be the weakest link, we recommend good quality pegs and keep a stock of screw in storm pegs. No refunds are given for holiday disruption due to inclement weather.

Children
Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
We do not accept unaccompanied children or teenagers.
Children and teenagers must be accompanied by parents camping on the same pitch.
There are many opportunities for play and adventure on our site but there are contingent risks to be aware of. We allow campfires and they're maybe the occasional tractor around cutting grass. There is an abundant rabbit, fox and badger population and the holes they create present a trip hazard. Bramble can also cause a trip hazard as do the fire pits and fire buckets. Bramble, Gorse, Thistle and other plants represent a cut and puncture hazard and we recommend that the appropriate footwear is worn at all times while on our site. There is stock proof barbed wire fencing in places children should refrain from climbing or touching these. There is an abundance of wild flowers on our site some of which may be poisonous. These risks are small, should be self evident and mitigated by appropriate behaviour, child supervision and mentoring! Dunes At Whitesands Camping accepts no responsibility for injury incurred on site. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children on site at all times.

Parking
We want children and adults to be able to play safely and we also need to protect the pitches from erosion, to enable this we have two a dedicated parking areas on the site. Vehicles may be only be driven to the pitch twice, once to pitch and once to strike camp. This keeps the actual camping site vehicle free, the only exception to this is camper vans which can be parked on selected pitches but only if the van is slept in. The parking of cars is not permitted on any pitches. The parking areas are between 50m to 120m away from the pitches and we provide wheel barrows to assist in the ferrying of day to day goods.

Day Visitors
Day visitors are only permitted with the prior agreement and at the site owners discretion and must report to the site owner on arrival. There is a charge of £10 per person per day and visitors cars must be parked adjacent to the site entrance. Day visitors must vacate the site before 10pm.

Consideration for Others
This is a peaceful, quiet campsite for the enjoyment of nature. Generators and amplified music are not permitted. We do not allow TVs, radios or any other device capable of playing music / voice. Acoustic instruments are permitted . Noise must be kept to a reasonable level at all times and there must be no noise or vehicle movement between 10.00pm and 7.30am. We do not allow the use of drones. No Fireworks or Chinese Lanterns etc. are allowed. Noisy visitors who persistently disturb other guests will be asked politely to leave, without refund (hopefully this will never happen).

In the interest of peace and quiet we do not accept noisy groups , hen parties, stag parties etc.

Recycling & Rubbish
A condition of camping here is that you separate glass, cans, plastic, paper, cardboard etc. placing them in the special bins provided. What is left, i.e. anything that is not recyclable can be placed in the landfill bins.

Badgers and Foxes
It's nice to know that you might get a glimpse of both of these creatures. At night you'll probably hear them scurrying around for sure. The problem is that they are looking for an easy feast and may try to raid your food stocks and recycling. One or two simple precautions will help. Put your food in suitable, hard containers and your recycling in the bins provided. Don’t leave food scraps lying around and make sure your tent is zipped up at bedtime.

Property Loss
Dunes at Whitesands Camping cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property.

Campfires
Keep the fire small. Please only use the designated campfire places and do not enlarge or alter the position of the designated campfire places. The fire pits are positioned at least 5m from combustibles, if you are going to have a fire, please ensure your tent, van, and gazebo is a minimum of 5m from the fire pit. Private fire bowls may only be used over the fire pit. Barbecues must be used over in or next to the fire pit. No other fires are permitted. Only seasoned hard wood and pure locally sourced charcoal sold by Dunes Camping can be used on our site. This is dry hardwood which will reduce smoke and prevent spitting. No other combustible material e.g. barbeque fuel or coal is allowed in our fire pits. Campfires are never to be left unattended and must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Think carefully about whether or not to light a fire if it is windy or the flora is too dry. Fires are lit at your risk and you are responsible for ensuring your safety, the safety of others and also that the fire does not spread. Do not leave litter, tin cans, glass or cigarette butts in the fire pit.

We reserve the right to ban campfires and charcoal barbecues etc. in the event of high fire risk. Campfires and barbecues are not guaranteed as part of your camping holiday.

There is a £12 per night extra charge for electric campervans which are parked on pitches where there is EHU. The charging of EV cars is not permitted on our site. In order to take advantage of our exceptional large pitches it is advisable to bring an extra-long cable, >20m is recommended.

Our charging points are for mobile phones, tablets and other small devices like torches that charge via a USB cable. Portable fridges and battery power packs which charge from a 13 amp plug are not permitted.
